at the beginning of the month i satiated my monthly-european-jaunt appetite by visiting the kingdom of spain. it was my first time in the country, a statistic i'm a little ashamed of seeing as it's not that far away and i can (pretty much) speak their language. actually now that i think of it i did go to both lanzarote and ibiza when i was younger - but with the number of pissed-up british people on those islands i don't think that really counts. i was a little concerned that i would encounter a similar culture in alicante where i spent most of my week, so i was happy to discover that wasn't the case and from what i can remember i was the only pissed-up englishman present. then again i did drink a lot when i was there so i may not have the most reliable memory.
